Jubilate Advance Placed
The Jubilate Advance Placed Program is an enriched learning opportunity designed for Children’s Chorus members in Grades 6 or higher. This program is designed to provide those Children’s Chorus members who seek greater musical challenge (and are assessed as ready through an audition) to have an advanced experience within a supportive setting. Interested Children’s Chorus members may apply for this experience if parents approve and support (i.e. agree that their child can cope with school and other commitments) and candidates are assessed through an audition. The program typically commences in the winter term and runs until the end of the Jubilate season.
Jubilate Advance Placed choristers attend Jubilate rehearsals and learn Jubilate music in addition to their full Children’s Chorus commitment. This means that once a month, alternates will rehearse with Camerata in the Youth Choir ensemble, and will perform in the winter and spring concerts with all these ensembles. It is a great opportunity for those who are interested, ready musically, are secure enough in their schoolwork, and have the stamina for this exciting enrichment experience. Each chorister who is offered a place as a Jubilate alternate, is given a 3-week period during which they can assess if the experience is something that is going to work out in the overall context of their family and school life and other pre-exisitng extra-curricular commitments. If during, or at the end of this 3-week period, choristers feel it is too much of a challenge, they may decline the offer without prejudice.
