Choral Scholarships

As part of its vision of education, Shallaway has partnered with the Memorial University of Newfoundland School of Music, to aid in the development of young music educators. The centerpiece of this partnership is the program of annual choral scholarships awarded to promising young conductors, who then apprentice with Shallaway for a year of mentored study and development. They work as para-professionals with the conductors and in learning all aspects of choir life, provide fresh insight. Each scholarship is named in honour of musicians who have made great contributions to music education in Newfoundland and Labrador.
