It’s Our Time - Film Premiere and Panel Discussion
This Tuesday we are so excited to be part of the world premiere of ‘It’s Our Time’, a documentary short from Up Sky Down Films and co-produced with the National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts .
Created in the spring and summer of 2021, 'It’s Our Time' celebrates the first-ever collaboration between the NL Deaf Choir and Shallaway. You will witness the choirs not only experience new possibilities for musical expression, but also sharing how they came to more deeply explore the possibilities and potential of music as a vehicle for reciprocal learning and deeper understandings and awareness amongst peoples of deaf culture and hearing people.
The film premiere will be followed by a panel discussion with members of the deaf choir community hosted by our own Artistic Director, Ms Kellie.
This event will be presented in English and American Sign Language, with French subtitles for the film presentation. Audience members are welcome to pose questions to the panel in English or French.
